I have to say, it is the most poignant book I have read in a long time. Randy Pausch is more than inspiring and the book leveled me in many ways. Don't miss the links to the time management video as well, as it is very good.
Last September, my father lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. I'm grateful for the time I've had with him, and for the 3 days I was able to spend by his bedside at the hospice. I happened upon the book as my wife and children were browsing the airport Borders for reading material during our flight back home. We had just finished a terrific week of vacation at Disney (the best yet), and I had been contemplating the return back into the rhythm of work, projects, everyday stresses. This book is another reminder that there is a world beyond coding, open source licenses, flames, projects, and deadlines. Perhaps its even more poignant that there is this brilliant guy, with a lovely family, teaching in our field, and doing what he can to instill joy in his family and friends, while inspiring others to live fully.
